PREVAILTM & PREVAILplusTM  Vane Materials: Economical for Standard Pump Applications, High Performance for Corrosive Pump Applications

Your GasFlo Advantage for Vanes

Vanes are a critical component for peak vacuum pump performance.  Vane materials must exhibit a combination of characteristics to meet your performance expectations:

Low thermal expansion to avoid excessive swelling that can cause a vane to seize in the rotor slot or against the end plates.
Low moisture absorption so, again, they do not swell and seize the pump.
High acid resistance for long lasting performance and no degrading or delaminating in corrosive service pumps.
Flexural strength to prevent the vane from bending under load, creating extra friction and seizing the pump.

GasFlo Products offers two types of vanes for the best combination of price and performance.

PREVAIL vanes provide excellent performance in standard pump applications.  PREVAIL is an epoxy filled fiber glass laminate with continuous woven carbon fibers for exceptional strength and built-in lubricity.  PREVAIL vanes are supplied in kits for the following series of pump

    Alcatel   SD, I, A, AC & C1
    Leybold B & A
    Edwards RV & E2M

Additionally, PREVAIL vanes are supplied for the first stages of corrosive series pumps (see below).

PREVAILplus vanes offer high performance where it is required in semiconductor processes or other applications that generate reactive aqueous acids.   PREVAILplus is a solid, long-fiber carbon composite with exceptional flexural modulus and high resistance to thermal expansion, acid attack and moisture absorption.  PREVAILplus vanes are available for individual sale and are supplied for the second stage in kits for the following pumps:

    Alcatel     C2 & CP
